Memorial Urns
The Art of the Eternal Vessel
A memorial is more than a container; it is a final, physical tribute to a life that deserves to be remembered with dignity. There is a profound beauty in a vessel that captures the essence of a soul—something that feels as substantial and enduring as the memories themselves. We believe that the objects we surround ourselves with during our most sacred moments should reflect the depth of our love and the strength of our history.

Our Process
A custom commission is a collaborative process that ensures the final piece aligns with the intended space and its future legacy. We offer one-on-one consultations to discuss the structural requirements, material selection, and specific dimensions of your project.
Whether you are looking to anchor a room with a custom table or require precise architectural steelwork, we provide the technical expertise to bring the concept to reality.
Schedule a session to define the scope of your project and establish the standard for your space.

Production
At Steel and Fir, our primary approach to memorials is through the precision of the lathe. The process begins with a single, substantial block of timber or a custom-poured epoxy casting. As the material rotates at high speed, we use hand-held gouges and chisels to reveal the vessel within.
This is a subtractive art form that demands absolute structural honesty. By turning the urn on a lathe, we ensure a seamless, symmetrical form that highlights the natural grain of the wood and the deep, translucent layers of the epoxy. The result is a piece with the wall thickness and weight of a true heirloom—a vessel designed not just to hold, but to endure.

A memorial vessel is a permanent legacy, and our responsibility to that legacy extends until it is safely in your hands. We treat the delivery process with the same structural focus and respect as the build itself.
For those honoring a loved one within the South Puget Sound, we provide the personal touch of hand delivery to ensure your vessel arrives with the care it deserves. For our friends and families across the United States, we offer secure national shipping. Every urn is protected in custom-engineered, reinforced packaging designed to neutralize the rigors of transit, ensuring that whether your piece is wood, epoxy, or delicate artisan glass, it arrives with its structural integrity fully intact.
If you have specific logistical needs or are located outside the country, please include those details in your consultation so we can coordinate a seamless arrival for your memorial.
